About TargetIQ and our editorial standards

TargetIQ is an independently built paper-target training app maintained in India. The product and this resource library are maintained by the TargetIQ team, with help from AI coding agents disclosed throughout the site.

What TargetIQ is—and is not

TargetIQ helps Air Rifle and Air Pistol shooters turn practice cards into reviewable scores, shot positions and training history. It is a training aid, not an official scoring system, governing body, jury or source of competition rulings.

TargetIQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with the ISSF, NRAI or another shooting organisation. References to rules and target dimensions are educational summaries linked to their official source.

How technical content is reviewed

  1. Start with the reader's task. Each guide answers one distinct scoring, measurement or training question.
  2. Use primary sources for rules. Target dimensions, gauges and official procedure are checked against the current ISSF rules index and official paper-scoring annex.
  3. Separate rules from explanation. Geometric shortcuts and worked examples are labelled as explanations, not official jury procedure.
  4. Check product claims in the product. Feature descriptions must match supported events, visible controls, calculations and current beta limitations.
  5. Test calculations. Reusable formulas are covered by automated unit tests; examples preserve units and state their assumptions.
  6. Show update dates and sources. Rule-sensitive articles record when references were last checked and link readers to current official material.
  7. Correct openly. Material corrections update the article date and the underlying shared content or test where practical.

Authorship and AI assistance

Guides are published under the TargetIQ editorial team because no individual sporting credential or official affiliation is being claimed. AI tools may help research, draft, illustrate and implement content. They are not treated as an authority: rule claims must resolve to primary sources, calculations must be independently reproducible, and product claims must match the working application.

When a named qualified reviewer or contributor participates with permission, their real name, role and contribution will be displayed. TargetIQ does not invent reviewer biographies, testimonials or ratings.

Product limitations and privacy

Automatic hole detection can be affected by glare, perspective, torn paper and overlapping shots. Every score should be checked against the visible overlay. Air Pistol support is explicitly beta. Data handling, image use, export and deletion are described in the Privacy Policy.
