Paper scoring, made inspectable

ISSF paper target scoring app

TargetIQ finds the target geometry and pellet-hole centres in a phone photo, applies event-specific integer scoring, then shows the overlay so you can check the result before saving it.

A scoring result you can inspect

Event-specific target geometry

Air Rifle and Air Pistol use different ring dimensions. TargetIQ keeps their target models and training histories separate instead of treating every black bull as the same scale.

Gauge-rule scoring for paper

A paper shot is scored by the ring touched by the outside edge of the scoring gauge. TargetIQ models the pellet diameter around the detected shot centre and assigns the integer ring reached by that gauge.

Human verification before history

Detection is a starting point, not an unquestionable verdict. The review overlay lets you correct the crop, rings and shot markers; saved totals and analysis use those corrected positions.

How the workflow works

  1. 1

    Choose the event

Select 10 m Air Rifle or the Air Pistol beta so the correct paper-target dimensions are used.

  2. 2

    Photograph the whole card

Keep all printed rings visible, avoid hard shadows and take the photo as square to the paper as practical.

  3. 3

    Check the overlay

Confirm the crop, target rings and each shot marker. Drag a marker, add a missed shot or remove a false detection when necessary.

  4. 4

    Save the corrected result

The verified positions become the card score, inner-ten count, grouping data and session history.

What to know before relying on a result

  • TargetIQ is a training aid, not an official scoring system or certified match result.
  • Creased paper, overlapping holes, poor light and an angled photograph can reduce automatic detection accuracy.
  • TargetIQ is not affiliated with or endorsed by the ISSF or any national governing body.

Questions about this feature

Does TargetIQ use decimal ISSF scoring?

No. TargetIQ currently records integer paper-target scores and inner tens. It does not reproduce electronic-target decimal measurement.

Can I correct an automatic score?

Yes. You can adjust the target crop and rings, then move, add or remove shot markers before saving the card.

Is a TargetIQ score valid for a competition?

No. It is designed for personal practice and training review, not official match scoring or challenges.
